The Same Old Academy Awards

Academy Award for Best Foreign Language FilmImage via Wikipedia The Academy Awards has a big night with several recipients getting awards. Many great producers, Actorsm and Directors walk away the the coveted prize of an Oscar. The awards seem to carry the same old who's who among the Hollywood elite. Host James Franco and Anne Hatheway tried to bring some zeal to the stage but it really wasn't enough to turn the crowd on its head. Past winners Like Halle Berry and Denzel Washington were in attendance to show their support for this years nominees. The Academy Awards should do like the grammies and bring in some musicians and other forms of entertainment to spice the place up a little. The awards show is growing old in style, because it has been doing the same old thing year after year.

Entertainment Weekly just that damn good at predicting stuff? No, no, and nope. The Oscars are just that predictable. And boring. And old. Some movies are just “Oscar movies” and that's bullshit. Why should the Academy members always reward the same types of movies? The Academy Awards are supposed to reward the best of the year – not necessarily the best drama or the best sad movie or the best anything specific. They're supposed to reward the best movies, period. ...

What is the Screen Actors Guild? The Screen Actors Guild is an American labor Union representing r 200,000 film and television principal performers and background performers worldwide. All actors and actresses need to become a part of the SAG in order for you to have some for of representation in the movie business. This organization is very helpful in fighting for your rights as an artist. If you are a new to the movie business then its in your best interest to become a part of this organization.
